After Britney Spears gives shocking testimony to a California court detailing 13 years of trauma under her controversial tutelage, questions must be asked about those involved in the case.

Who is Britney Spears’ lawyer Samuel D. Ingham III?
Ingham is a California lawyer whose practice focuses on proceedings involving guardianship and trusts.
Ingham was appointed Spears’ attorney in 2008.
Ingham became Spears’ lawyer in 2008 as her father, Jamie Spears, sought guardianship and the right to control his daughter’s personal finances.
At the time, Spears was in the hospital for an involuntary psychiatric assessment and a court found her unable to hire her own lawyer.
Ingham has had other prominent clients.
Ingham worked under the tutelage of radio legend Casey Kasem.
Kasem was 82 when the guardianship was put in place for his last year of life and suffered from cognitive impairment.
Ingham also worked on the tutelage of media mogul Sumner Redstone. Redstone was also elderly and ill when the guardianship was put in place.
It is estimated that Ingham made $ 3 million representing Spears.

Ingham is criticized for failing to protect Spears.
Voices in the #FreeBritney movement have questioned Ingham’s ability to represent Spears after he appears to have failed to inform him of his rights in guardianship.
At Wednesday’s hearing, Spears told the court, “I didn’t know I could ask for the end of the guardianship. “
“I’m sorry for my ignorance, but honestly I didn’t know it,” she added. “My lawyer says I can’t – that’s no good, I can’t let the public know what they did to me. “
Court documents imply that Spears has been pushing to change the terms of his guardianship since 2014, but was still unaware of his right to question the dissolution agreement.
Ingham has raised concerns about Spears custody of his children.
At a meeting in 2014, Ingham shared concerns Spears expressed about her father’s drinking and custody of the children she shares with Kevin Federline.
However, he also informed Jamie Spears’ attorneys about his daughter’s use of profanity in the presence of her children.
He noted that he had told Jamie Spears’ attorneys in charge of custody arrangements “so that he can take whatever steps are necessary to protect the children.”
Spears wants to change lawyers.
In her testimony, Spears noted that she had formed a relationship with her legal team, whom she spoke to three times a week, but indicated that she would like to choose her own lawyer.
“I haven’t really had the opportunity on my own to choose my own lawyer. And I wish I could do it, ”she said. She has never publicly expressed her displeasure with the Ingham team.
