The phenomenal success of The Squid Game made the public talk about a second season. The audience breathed a sigh of relief as director Hwang Dong Hyuk spoke about his readiness to film a sequel. The filmmaker is currently in talks with Netflix. The new season may come out at the end of 2023 or in 2024.

The author shared: he has some ideas for the second season, they fit on three pages. However, he did not reveal all the cards, he only noted: there will be more games.

Hwang Dong Hyuk hinted that people will face even greater trials.

“Humanity will be tested again in these games,” Hwang told Vanity Fair . “I want to ask the question: ‘Is true solidarity between people possible?’ Sounds intriguing.”
