With Battlefield 2042, it looks like DICE will be pushing hard for post-launch content for the multiplayer shooter. We know the developer has confirmed no less than four fight passes and four seasons in its first year, but precisely what it has planned for each season has been kept under wraps. According to one person claiming to be aware of the situation, it looks like the seasonal content for this game will be the most comprehensive ever in the series.
Tom Henderson recently took to Twitter to state what he had heard about the Battlefield 2042 seasonal plans, and it looks like a lot is in store:
Henderson has leaked details of other FPS titles in the past, and while he does things right, that isn’t always the case. In fact, he admits that in the tweet above, his sources reached out to tell him that only one card will arrive on Portal each season, not two.
Still, if what he claims is correct, players will receive one Specialist, three maps, Hazard Zone updates, up to eight new weapons, two or three vehicles, and 100 season levels each season. That’s a lot, and everything would be available for free.
Of course, rumors like this should be treated lightly. There is almost nothing to back up Henderson’s claims, other than his own reputation, which is at times somewhat inconsistent. We’re sure to get official details on DICE’s post-launch plans in the near future – there’s still plenty of time for EA to turn the tide with a content roadmap. What do you think? Will DICE produce all of the aforementioned goodies for Battlefield 2042, or is that too ambitious to be true? Discuss in the comments section below.
