BORA-hansgrohe spends Sagan millions

BORA-hansgrohe does not give up after the departure of Peter Sagan. Yesterday the German formation already announced the return of Sam Bennett, today Jai Hindley, Sergio Higuita and Marco Haller also joined. All three signed a contract for three seasons.

Hindley (25) comes over from Team DSM. Last season the Australian broke through with a second place in the final classification of the Giro, but this year he was unable to break any pots. At BORA, Hindley and Higuita (24) have to strengthen the core for the big rounds. The Colombian makes the switch from EF Education First-NIPPO. Haller (30) is more of a classic type, although the Austrian can also handle a role in Sam Bennett’s sprint train.

Almeida leader of Deceuninck-Quick.Step in Poland

Deceuninck-Quick Step announced his selection on Wednesday for the Tour of Poland, which starts on August 9. The Belgian WorldTour formation hopes to win the stage race again after Remco Evenepoel last year.

Portuguese Joao Almeida, who finished sixth in the Giro, will be making his comeback in the stage race from August 9-13, after taking his first professional victory at the Portuguese Time Trial Championship in June. French champion Rémi Cavagna, Colombian Alvaro Hodeg, who has already won a stage there, and Belgians Tim Declercq and Stijn Steels are also part of the selection.
