The sequel received a long-awaited continuation.

The new part of “Minions” collected a record box office over the weekend. At the home box office, the film earned $127.9 million and thus broke the record for “Transformers 3” – this film was able to earn $115 million.

“Minions: Gruvitation was able to do well alongside Tom Cruise’s sequel to Top Gun 2 and Universal’s Dino Brochach’s Jurassic World,” reports Variety .

The second part of the sequel will tell about the childhood of the main villain Gru. However, there will be no official release of the cartoon in Russia – the Universal studio has ceased its activities.
