In the filing, Clarkson said at the time that both she and her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock “have the right to start a new life.” A statement with which the judge who heard the case clearly agreed. On Friday, the news became known that Kelly Clarkson is officially single again.
The American singer had to wait a long time for it. Clarkson officially submitted the application this summer, but the divorce with her ex-husband has been dragging on for much longer. For example, Kelly applied for the divorce papers more than a year ago. She is therefore very happy that things are finally moving forward. “She is doing well and looking forward to the future,” a source told People magazine.
In your own hands
It is not the first time the judge has ruled in Clarkson’s favor. In November, she was granted custody of their two children River Rose (7) and Remington Alexander (5). Last month it was also announced that the marriage contract of the former couple must be complied with. The singer’s fortune, estimated at around $45 million, remains in her own hands.
Her ex-husband Bradon was of course not happy with the above statement. He challenged the decision and asked the judge to fairly distribute the value of their farm in Montana, where he currently lives. He also believed that he was entitled to half of all income earned during their marriage.
