Following a few leaks and rumors in recent weeks, Sony has confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is indeed one thing. It will be released for PlayStation 5 and PS4 on August 20, 2021, and will feature a new story expansion set on Iki Island. Instead of a new standalone spinoff game , it looks like Ikishima’s Ghost is simply a DLC add-on for the existing game. The original experience will also be updated with support for haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on PS5, along with improved load times and 3D audio.
The Iki Island expansion will contain a new story and new characters. There will also be “new environments to explore, new armor for Jin and his horse, new mini-games, new techniques, new enemy types and much more. There will even be new animals to pet! Trophy enthusiasts can also look forward to some new trinkets to unlock. On PS5, lip-syncing for Japanese voiceover will also be offered.
“If you already have Ghost of Tsushima on PS4, you can transfer your save to PS5 to pick up where you left off. For new players, new Iki Island content will be available from Ghost of Tsushima Act 2, after visiting the Toyotama region. “
The game will cost € 70 on PS5 and € 60 on PS4, with digital pre-orders giving you immediate access to the next-gen version to get you started ahead of time. If you already own Ghost of Tsushima on PS4, upgrading to the Director’s Cut version will cost $ 20. This upgrade will be available from August 20, 2021. If you purchase the Director’s Cut edition on PS4 and then choose to upgrade to the PS5 version, it will cost you $ 10.
