“Mr. Corman” (August 6)

The first major role of an actor on television in 20 years!
“Dogs of the Reservation” (August 9)
The crime comedy Taiki Waititi (Real Ghouls, Jojo the Rabbit) and Sterlin Harjo (The Wizards) on Hulu is about four teenagers growing up on an Oklahoma Indian reservation. The heroes trade in theft (for example, they steal a van with food and sell it to other children) in order to save money and leave for California.
“What if…?” (11th August)
A Marvel animated series based on the comics of the same name, continuing the theme of the multiverse, first started in “Loki”. How will the main events in the superhero universe develop in alternative versions? Peggy Carter, for example, will take the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers and become Captain Britain, while T’Challa will go into space as Star Lord.
“Nine Complete Strangers” (August 18)
One of the most anticipated premieres of the month is scheduled for Hulu. The events of the dramatic thriller (eight episodes in total) are set in a luxurious holiday home and tell the story of nine wealthy residents of a modern metropolis who came to improve their health and deal with personal problems. True, they do not yet know how unusual and creepy methods of treatment are used here. The series is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Liane Moriarty and is written by David E. Kelly (Big Little Lies. Nicole Kidman , Luke Evans, Regina Hall, Melissa McCarthy and Michael Shannon).
“Department” (August 20)
Game of Thrones authors David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are back in action with Netflix and a comedy-drama about the language department. The main role was played by Sandra O (“Killing Eve”) – her character became the first woman to head the department of English at a conservative university.
Chapelwaite (23 August)
At the end of the month, Amediateka has prepared a resounding premiere – a gothic retro horror based on Stephen King’s novel The Settlement of Jerusalem. In the lead role – Oscar winner Adrian Brody, who played in the series the aristocrat Charles Boone, who, after the death of his wife, moved with his children to the house of their ancestors, where he has to learn many family secrets and face the dark past of relatives. By the way, the authors of “Chapelway” were the creators of “Pulp Fiction”, “Reservoir Dogs”, “The Man in the High Castle” and “Battlestar Galactica”. Among the producers is also Adrian Brody, and the “king of horror” himself worked on the adaptation script.
“Spit” (25 August)
Russian novelty on KION. Igor Voloshin (“Fizruk”) filmed an eleven-episode detective series, which takes place on the Curonian Spit in the Kaliningrad region, where the police find the bodies of young girls. The manner of the crime points to a maniac who operated in the 90s, and an investigator, mysteriously associated with the killer, takes over the case. By the way, the project took part in the New York International Film Festival (INYFF), where it received an award in the category “Best TV / Web Series”!
Murders in the same building (August 31)
A detective comedy from Hulu about a motley group of strangers who live in a luxurious high-rise in Manhattan and love crime stories. When a murder occurs in their house, sofa detectives team up to find the culprit. Starring Selena Gomez , Steve Martin (Dirty Swindlers) and Martin Short (Inner Space).
