Without the injured star players LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the LA Lakers have suffered a 104-86 defeat on a visit to fellow city rivals LA Clippers in the NBA.

For the reigning NBA champion, it was the nineteenth defeat of the season. That means they don’t get any further than fifth place in the Western Conference. Clippers is moving up to swim three, still well away from number two Phoenix Suns and authoritarian leader Utah Jazz. The top six will participate in the play-offs after the regular season.

In the Eastern Conference, leader Philadelphia 76ers and number two Brooklyn Nets went down. The Sixers were surprisingly defeated in-house by Memphis, Brooklyn, still without James Harden and Kevin Durant, lost 115-107 to the Chicago Bulls’ prosecution.
