Film critic, host of the program “The Cinema Has Started” on Moscow.FM Roman Grigoriev told the News portal why the series based on “The Lord of the Rings” came out so expensive. The specialist is sure that most of the money was spent on actors’ fees and computer graphics.
Recall that the series starred such actors as Peter Mullan, Nazanin Boniadi, Benjamin Walker, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Morveth Clark and others. It will premiere on September 2 on Amazon Prime Video.
“Computer graphics can cost between $4,000 and $5,000 per second. In The Lord of the Rings, up to 70% of special effects, so almost the entire budget is spent on their creation. If 25 frames are at least per second, and now the cameras are shooting at 60 per second, so multiply,” shared Roman Grigoriev.
